"Pythagorus Theorem"

"Pythagorus Theorem", a term I have not used for almost 30 years, but lately have to looking into Ah Boy's Maths book to learn again what it is. Tangient, Sine, Cosine seems ages long gone, but came back again. Even though I have not dealt with these Maths formulae and theories after so many years, it is not difficult at all to learn them so that I can explain or teach Ah Boy when he is not sure of the answers to his Maths' questions.

I wonder whether am I the only mother among his friends or classmates that still coach her child in his school work? Though initially he was a bit unwilling to let me teach/explain to him, but he's ok with it now. I suppose he realises that his mother has made efforts to learn from his book in order to teach/explain to him those topics that he's not sure of.

Once Ah Girl is back from Melbourne for her holidays in September, then she can fit in to coach him. Ah Girl is very good in Maths subject. Hopefully, Ah Boy will score A for his Maths. But he has really improved a lot lately in his Maths subject. Well done, Boy.

Exam

"Practise Make Perfect", a phrase I have not used or heard for quite long time. Can't remember when was the last time I used that phrase. But I said to Ah Boy this morning to emphasize to him that he must go through the model questions and answers books that I have bought for him to prepare for his upcoming PMR exam.

Only 42 days more to his PMR exam. Looks like I am more stressed than he does over his exam. I have not worried so much when Ah Girl had her PMR exam in 2005. I was so confident that Ah Girl would do well, and she did with all As. What a remarkable girl. Well, Ah Boy I hope he will do well too in his PMR exam. Not that he must score all As like his sister, but hopefully good results for him to go into Science class next year.

Agony Over H1N1

Finally school holidays are here again. At least it will deviate me of the agony of whether to let my Ah Boy go to school or not.

Since learning that his school has someone confirmed as H1N1 positive, it has been a tough decision over his schooling. I'm sure this is also the most agony decision making by most parents now a days.

I am surprised however to see a lot of parents with very young children ( even a few months' old babies) still bring them out to public places, like shopping malls and most of them without any precautions. I wonder do these parents know that young children are high risk group ?

Someone circulating an email apparently advise from a medical doctor that apart from washing our hands regularly, we must also gurgle salt water two to three times a day which will help to prevent H1N1. Also do not use your hands to touch your nostril, mouth wihtout washing your hands first.

With precautionary measures undertaken by individuals, hopefully this dreadful disease will go away. But WHO said it may take a year for this pandemic to be over.

What can we do? But PRAY!!!
